Farnese Motto Birthday Challenge- Fight Poverty

Welcome to Farnese's Pay It Forward Birthday Challenge!  This is a platform designed for passionate individuals that want to make their birthday about more than just a number. On a day when all of the attention is normally on them, heroes like Farnese use their influence to raise money and awareness for some of the world's most desperate causes.

Farnese has decided to dedicate this campaign to raise money and awareness to Fight Poverty. Explore this page to learn more about the charity that this campaign will help support. After you are done learning, we hope that you will support Farnese's passion by making a donation and sharing the campaign on social media!

"As most of you know, my Birthday is on August 26 and this year, I would like to do something different. This year, I would like to donate my birthday to charity because I have been so blessed in my life already. As I am about to turn 23, I am reflecting on my growth and learning to understand that there's more to life than going to birthday dinners or clubbing for that matter. While those things are fun and I enjoy them, there are so many people in the world who don't have that option and who just want the bare necessities (i.e. access to clean water, a home, safety, health...etc.) Moreover, just as the great, Muhammad Ali said, " Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth."- Farnese

About The Charity

Money raised from this campaign will be used to benefit a charity called Evidence Action. Evidence Action helps fight poverty through two programs; Dispensers for Safe Water and The Deworm the World Initiative. We split all donations 50/50 between these two programs.

Dispensers for Safe Water  is a low-cost intervention that focuses on providing clean and safe water by installing chlorine dispensers near water sources. Once treated with a small amount of chlorine the water is safe for 2-3 days. Nearly 760,000 children under the age of five die from diarrhea each year. The cause of this is often unsafe drinking water, making unsafe water one of the leading causes of childhood mortality worldwide.

The Deworm the World Initiative helps to break the cycle of poverty by protecting school-aged children from contracting parasitic worms that would normally keep them from getting an education. Many people do not realize that worm infections are responsible for an estimated 200-524 million years of primary schooling. 600 million children at risk of contracting parasitic worms remain untreated.

For every $100 raised, this campaign will be able to provide and estimated 33 people with clean water for one year and 165 children with the appropriate deworm vaccines to help keep them in school.
